About Tanja
Tanja Meyburgh, renowned Systemic Psychologist and Traditional Healer trained in Southern African Lineage Wisdom, is known for her capacity to hold deep process, inclusive spaces and learning in ancestral wisdom and embodiment. Tanja recently brought out her first book entitled “Reclaiming Ancestors” which brings together her life-long learning of being called by a physical affliction to work with ancestors, through a Southern African lineage wisdom. It took her 14 years of training to accept the initiation as Igedla doctor from her teacher Phokojwe. Igedla is the sister of the better-known Sangoma title which requires a different learning and initiation process, including herbal and ancestor medicine received through dreams and visions. She has been the primary pioneer of Family Constellations work in South Africa, as founder and MD of African Constellations, training hundreds of facilitators since 2003 and founding the Systemic Constellations Association of Southern Africa. Through inclusion of embodiment, collective, land and culturally inclusive ways, Tanja brings a deep container for clients’ personal and collective healing processes both individually, in groups, organisations and collective initiatives. Tanja incorporates systemic understanding, ancestral ritual, dance and trans-generational healing in her workshops, training and masterclasses around the world and online. Tanja has also implemented interventions for business and organisations, and public benefit organisations involved in human rights and community development. She is represented as faculty and guest facilitator in training institutes worldwide including The Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, United Kingdom, Kuwait and UAE, Brazil, Romania, Spain, Portugal and Australia. Tanja lives in Cape Town, South Africa, and immerses herself in nature, dance and wild swimming in her free time.
