Join us and explore the Scandinavian Folkmagic & Folkwisdom tradition. Rooted in the ancient nature based practices of the people of Scandinavia, this tradition of healing, spells and charms has survived till today.
When people first meet Scandinavian magic today, we meet ideas of a uniquely Nordic Viking religion, Runes and prophesizing Völvas. Most of this narrative was formed by our ruling class in the quest of National myth building during the 16-19 century. This is very disconnected from what has been going on in the folk layers of the people of Scandinavia for millenias. In this lecture you will be introduced to the native Scandinavian Folkmagic tradition of Trolldom and some of its common practices, divinatory methods and ritual work.

Johannes B. Gårdbäck is the author of “Trolldom – Spells and Methods of the Norse Folkmagic Tradition”. He is an internationally recognized teacher with more than 30 years of experience as a professional folk healer and a folk magic practitioner. Today he runs Urhall, a physical and online school of Trolldom and Scandinavian Folk wisdom in his home village of Hedekas, Sweden where he lives with his wife, two daughters and a dog called Bob.
