Nepal has a millennia old Shamanic tradition that shares roots with other Himalayan traditions like Bon, Vedic and Buddhism. Jhakri – Nepalese Shaman – are both ritualists and healers. In their ritual and healing practice they use a variety of tools like the phurba, a ritual dagger.
In this 90min webinar, renowned Jhakri and teacher Dhanshing Tamang will give you an overview about the Nepalese Shamanic tradition followed by an introduction to the use of the Phurba in the Nepalese tradition. The Phurba plays a central role in many rituals and ceremonies. A great way to connect and learn from an authentic lineage holder of the Himalayan tradition.
The webinar will start at 2pm NYC, 7pm UK time, 8pm CEST. A recording will be available for all ticket holders for 30 days.
About Dhanshing
Dhanshing Tamang belongs to the Tamang ethnic group. Ta means horse and Mang means man. According to him, the Tamangs came from Tibet, and before Tibet, from the steppe, but from where exactly, no one remembers. He lives in a village in northern Nepal and is a 13th generation Jhakri, as shamans are called in Nepal.
