The Art of Limpia: Healing with Ecuadorian Plant Wisdom with Dr. Rocío Alarcón

Tue Nov 18, 2025 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM EST
Online, Zoom

In this 90-minute online session, renowned ethnobotanist and curandera Dr. Rocío Alarcón offers an illuminating overview of the Ecuadorian Limpia, the ancestral ceremony of energetic cleansing and restoration. Rooted in the deep traditions of the Amazon and the Andes, the Limpia is more than a ritual of purification; it is a dialogue between the healer, the plants, and the spirit of the person receiving the healing.

Dr. Rocío will introduce the variety of plants traditionally used in Limpia for cleansing, protection, and balance, explaining how their properties and energies are chosen according to the person’s needs. She will also explore an essential yet often overlooked aspect of the practice: after the ceremony, the healer observes the condition and appearance of the used plants to gain insight into the source and nature of the illness or imbalance – a living form of plant divination and diagnosis.

This webinar provides a rare overview of Limpia practice, bridging ethnobotanical science with ancestral healing wisdom, and inviting participants to reconnect with the living intelligence of the plants that sustain and guide this sacred tradition.

The webinar will start at 3pm NYC / 8pm UK / 9pm CEST. A recording will available for all ticket holders for 30 days.
