The Way of the Seabhean is a tradition that has come to me and through me. To me, from the Ancient ones, the Tree Brethren, the Tuatha de Danann, my Ancestors and my Grandmother, and through me – in that it has been an ancient calling, longing, singing in my blood and in my bones, called forth from my foremothers.

To walk the land in conscious awareness of Her nature and all that lives upon and within Her. To Journey to the 3 realms. To connect with those betwixt and between. To see our reflection in all and to BE within the essence of now.

The Way of the Seabhean brings us into right relationship with self by recognising and living all that we are and letting go of all that we are not. Living in the fullness of our natures through our work in the 3 worlds and our interconnectedness with all around us. The Lower World, our roots/our Ancestors – our place of power; The Middle World, our trunk/our awareness of now – our place of be-in; and, The Upper World, our branches/ our consciousness – our place of Spirit.

The Middle World is held by the 8 great turnings of the wheel of the year, which brings our awareness also, into ritual and ceremony, through the celebrations of these great turnings.

Our living Earth is held by a huge weave, each one of us being a point upon that weave and each of us also, carries our own personal weave around us in life. All that we experience and grow through is a part of our own living weave and this feeds into the Great weave of the Earth.

In these 70 minutes I will give an overview of the Way of the Seabhean, and we will finish with a gentle journey, before the questions and answers.

The Seabhean is the woman who crosses the path between the worlds. She holds the presence and abilities of the Shaman and the wisdom of the Cailleach (Crone).

The Shamanic tradition goes back over many thousands of years. Each clan or grouping of people held in reverence the Shamanic Way. This Way allows a person to Journey into these worlds for healing, for answers, for visions, which brings a sense of continuity, wholeness and integration for self and for the clan.

The Cailleach holds sacred the Mysteries/Rites of Passage for women and for the clan. She reminds us of who we are and the sacredness of passing on our tradition. Re-weaving, Re-membering, Re-trieving allows us to Re-claim our Passion and our Power.

Calling us to be ourselves. To Live in the fullness of Self. To honour all of life around us.

About Amantha 

Amantha Murphy is a Seabhean, Shamanic Teacher, Seer, Healer, Celebrant and Author who follows the path of the Goddess. She started her spiritual work publicly in 1972 as a clairvoyant, moving within 2 years into trance mediumship and healing. She developed many tools along the Way with her Spirit, Ancestors, Grandmother, Tree Brethren, Stone People and Tuatha de Dannon teaching and guiding her and continues to work with both individuals and groups. Amantha is a Mother of four and Grandmother of four, living in County Kerry, Ireland, working primarily: with the Land, Running Apprentice Teachings at home in Ireland, in Canada and the United States on The Way of the Seabhean which includes Womyn’s Rites of Passage as well as teaching mixed groups in Ancient Irish Shamanism. Amantha has been running Ancient Goddess Pilgrimages in Ireland since 1995. Her passion is the Land and returning to HER story – continuing to work with the land and through the Grandmothers; the “Shining Ones” / the Tuatha de Danann; and the Ancient Ones.
