just wondering who among us have used sigils or created a talisman or amulet using one (or several)?

the first time I encounterd one personally was after firewalking - it seemed to be burned into my foot, but then disappeared by morning.

have you used or drawn them for specific purposes?

nobody?

This is one example:
One of my teachers had a friend who had a lot of problems with geese all over her small yard. She lived in a condo complex, and the geese tended to congregate in her small garden. So she approached my teacher to see if he could help.

After careful consideration, he created a sigil that called in Cat energy and buried it in her yard. Now the geese go to the neighbor's yard, and stay out of hers.

Interesting! He didn't want to harm the geese, just move them.

I've never used, nor seen used, to my knowledge, something like that; however, since the Spirit of my Drum is Bird, I have tied feathers to it -- and since I did that, my Drum seems to create a more "soaring" energy. So, perhaps it is something like what you describe -- to call in energy??

yes, a sigil calls/brings in energy. Very specific energy if it is charged. A sigil is a sign or drawing that channels magical energy and can be extremely potent.

A simple one to make is where you take a phrase: "to remain focused."
By writing that phrase out, then removing all the duplicate letters, the letters that remain are the start of the sigil. If you can create a design from the remaining letters, that design would be your sigil. And it would be specific to you, as only you would know what that design meant.

I have used sigils, talismans & amulets for various purposes. I have learned how to use them both from a modern shamanic perspective as well as magickal skills.

OOnaOwl;
Yes, the symbols and signs are very old and can be used in traditional work, as well as modern magic. One must be very careful though... they are quite powerful.

I am careful always. I have used them for many different purposes such as healing, protection, abundance, etc. Many sigils etc. from various traditions as well as creating my own as directed by spirit.
