I'm new to shamanism and have read a few beginner's book on the subject. I was wondering if anyone can recommend any books to help me get started. Beginner's to Advanced, it doesn't matter. Just as long as they are good and informative reads. Thanks in advance.

Please forgive me for being so blatant as to mention my own attempt at a novel which attempts to explain the shamanistic perspective. It is called, "The Doubting Snake" and is an adventure tale in the jungles of Central America. An American zoologist is caught in a struggle between shamans and governments. They attempt to train the hapless, clueless zoologist to help them and he must decide on whose side he is on. I would be happy to send you a free copy if you provide the shipping cost or a pre-paid envelope, just to get your opinion. You can contact me at bobklein@movementsofmagic.com. The book is 267 pages 8-1/2X11".

Korean Shamanism: The Training Process of Charismatic 'Mudang'

care of Indiana state University... good free article.

Charismatic means : Its backwards!
Basically.

Its shamans with spiritual power trying to learn the steps and get in their paces to be like those who are brought up with it and often are just help their other family and have no spiritual power themselves. You get a sense for both sides of the coin there...
