In my own practice, I have set up an altar that represents my shamanic world-view. I have an iron cross there that represents the four directions as well as the Aztec world tree. I have a few votive candles meant to give me protection and good luck. I also have several idols such as baby jesus, the virgin mary, and a san simon statuette. I have holy water and whisky there also along side by aztec power fetish.

What I wanted to know or rather what I am curious about is whether you shamans keep altars. Are they permanent or makeshift. If you don't have an altar, why not? And if you do, how to you use it in your daily practice. Thanks in advance.

Yours in the struggle,

yes, I have an altar, and is kept private. It is very meaningful, powerful and does change.

I have an altar in my home, and a smaller, traveling altar which I take with me when I work. Both are adorned with representations of power animals and spirit guides, and other items of power.
