Hello everyone My name is Josh I am 16 and have been practicing Hellenic Reconstructionism for the past two years, and recently I have been learning about different forms of "mysticism", I use that for lack of better term, seeing as I wish to become a modern Mystic in my practice. Shamanism came up earlier in my studies but I put it on a to-do list seeing as I was working on druidism at the time. But now I have time to look into shamanism.

My heading said there would be a question and here it is:
Is shamanism compatable with any religion or are there only certain ones out there that is works with?

in the type of work I do, shamanism is not a religious practice, nor it is related to any type of religion - therefore, it doesn't matter what your religion or belief is.

My grandmother taught me herbalism; I learned journey work from a Mayan shaman; I've studied ancient Peruvian energy medicine from various human teachers The Four Winds, and learned protection work from a Taoist priest. I have always been guided by various spirits, and continue to be taught by the Council of Seven.

books - go to the book store and browse through what they have. One or 2 will appeal to you. Some current authors:
Clarissa Pinkola Estés
Steven Farmer
Sandra Ingerman
Alberto Villoldo

and others... it all depends on what interests you.

I'm more interested in herbal medicine and herbal "magick" if you will.

There are many good books on herbalism. Again, your local bookstore will provide the best reference and selection as to which ones appeal to you.

If you want to learn online, visit Jim MacDonald or Susun Weed.
