Hello everybody!
Let me give you a tip for those loving beeing online.
When I started the a local drumcircle Schuschu in Switzerland, we initially had problems finding drummers. We also created a online message board, a forum for shamanism. The idea was to have a platform to discuss each members shamanic travels and to build a community. Meanwhile we got members from all the german speaking europe, but seldom we can celebrate our drumcircle in real live.
So we were looking around for some free videoconferencing tool and found ooVoo. With this tool we manage to get small circles of 6 drummers onto one screen and can have drum-sessions and discussions online.
Perhaps this is a tip for other spread apart drummer-communities.

Hi you all!
Funny. Our drum group uses ooVoo now for months and I thought it would be worth a tip to other groups.
Today, ooVoo releases a new version. In the free version (and nonprofit-organisations like most drum-groups will you free versions) it is now only possible to have 3 drummers at the same time online.
What a pity.
Never mind the tip!
Our group is looking for something else.

I wonder why it is important to have a free tool. I doubt the cost is anything compared with renting or buying a place for people to physically gather.

I came to this thread just today, am also looking for a drum group or at least, an online drum group.
I hope you'll find soon something adecuate.

If anyone who wants to drum online then their is a way - Skype! Let me know if you are interested and I'll start the ball rolling. A lot depends on where people live as regards to time, we need a certain amount of structure - not much though!
